Students
How to admit students in SR, import them from Excel, add guardians and parent portal access, change a pupil's class or status, promote at the end of the year, and take good student photos.

What makes SR different
SR is a modern school management app for Ghanaian basic schools, made by Laurian DC. A few things schools notice:
- Made for Ghanaian basic schools
- Nursery 1 to JHS 3 with the classes schools actually use (KG, Basic, JHS), three terms or two semesters, fees in cedis, Mobile Money, and SMS to Ghanaian numbers.
- A beautiful interface that's easy to use
- Clean, modern screens that staff pick up quickly, carefully laid out for every screen: a bottom tab bar and full-screen forms on phones, lists and details side by side on computers, and the same look in the desktop app. Light and dark mode (the school crest switches to a light-on-dark version in dark mode), 15 accent colours, press-and-hold menus on phones, right-click on computers, and score entry where Enter moves to the next pupil.

- Teachers mark registers and enter scores on their phones in class; the office works on a computer or the school PC. SR adds to the home screen like an app and runs on older phones too.
- A desktop app that works offline
- The school office PC keeps working without internet and syncs with the web when it's back. Its records and daily backups are encrypted.
- Attention to detail
- Photo tips that open the back camera and a crop tool, so student photos look good; Excel imports checked row by row before anything is saved; names tidied into proper capitals; a free, high-resolution redraw of the school crest in three versions.
- Fees that match how schools work
- Fee lists per level, admission fees charged once, arrears carried into the new term, an unpaid invoice swapped when a pupil changes class, discounts and fines with reasons, receipts, debtors lists, and parents paying by Mobile Money straight into the school's account.
- Report cards done properly
- Class works and exams weighted the school's way, numeric or descriptive grading, positions, GPA and CGPA, attendance, class teacher's comments with suggestions, signatures, and an approve-then-publish step so nothing reaches a report or a parent unchecked.

- Absence alerts and payment receipts by SMS, messages personalised with each parent's and child's name and balance, and a parent portal on their phones with a PIN: fees, results and attendance.
